The Phoenix area has a small but strong group of dedicated gluten-free bakeries. One doubles as a brunch spot with chicken and waffles, one is an organic bakery run by an owner with celiac disease, and one calls itself Arizona’s first dedicated gluten-free bakery.

Tips for gluten-free bakeries in Phoenix
Go in the morning. In the summer heat, a box of pastries doesn’t last long in the car. Make the bakery your first stop, or bring a cooler.
Call before you drive. The Phoenix area is spread out, and hours at smaller bakeries change. A quick call saves a long drive.
Pair it with a meal. Jewel’s is a full brunch, and Knead Luv makes sandwiches and pizza. For restaurants across the valley, see our Phoenix gluten-free restaurant guide.
