Gluten Free Bakery Nashville: Dedicated GF Bakeries for Celiacs (2026)

Nashville is a biscuit city, which makes a good gluten-free bakery even more valuable here. The good news is that the Nashville area has several bakeries where nothing contains gluten, including one with a third-party gluten-free certification and lines out the door before it opens.

Here are the gluten-free bakeries in Nashville, which ones are fully dedicated, and how to plan around their short hours.

Dedicated gluten-free bakeries in Nashville

Gluten Free Goose, A Bakery

6601 Sugar Valley Dr, Suite 115, South Nashville. The most trusted gluten-free bakery in Nashville. It’s certified 100% gluten free by the Gluten-Free Food Program, a certification endorsed by the National Celiac Association. Cinnamon rolls, cookies, cakes, doughnuts, muffins, and rustic loaves, with a new menu announced every week.

Hours: Recent listings show Wednesday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., but the bakery’s own website lists different hours, and it sometimes closes for a few weeks at a time. Check its Facebook page before you go. Get there early: reviewers report lines forming before opening and popular items selling out.

Chetzel’s Bakehouse

99 Seaboard Ln, Brentwood. A gluten-free and grain-free bakery that opened in 2024, south of the city near Franklin. It’s named for the Chetzel, owner Karina DeAlmeida’s cheese-based soft pretzel. There are also cookies, cakes, bread, empanadas, and quiche, with keto, paleo, and vegan options.

Sunflower Bakehouse

2414 Lebanon Pike, Donelson. A vegan restaurant and bakery where all the baked goods are gluten free, from sandwich bread to cupcakes to pizza rolls. One thing to know: the kitchen does bring in regular wheat bread for some sandwich orders, kept in separate containers. The bakery side is the fully gluten-free part, so stick to the baked goods if you’re very sensitive.

Caviar & Bananas has a large gluten-free selection, including croissants and pastries. The gluten-free items sit in the same case as regular baked goods, though, so it’s not the right choice if you’re highly sensitive.

Tips for gluten-free bakeries in Nashville

Plan around mornings. Gluten Free Goose closes at 1 p.m. and sells out earlier. Make it your first stop of the day.

Follow the bakeries on social media. Weekly menus, sold-out notices, and temporary closures show up on Facebook and Instagram before anywhere else.

Biscuits and hot chicken are a different story. For where to eat the rest of the day, including the honest truth about hot chicken, see our Nashville gluten-free restaurant guide.
